Outside Report: Felton's Randall leads local finishers in downhill race

Felton's Ryan Randall won the Expert men's division [age 19-34] at the sixth stop of the Central Coast Cyclocross Downhill Race Series at Toro Park in Salinas on Sunday. Randall finished the course with a winning time of 3 minutes, 18.69 seconds.

Josh Maurer of Scotts Valley won the Sport division [19-34] with a time of 3:34.87. In the Beginner men [45-54] it was Tony Gasparich of Aptos taking first place with a time of 4:16.49. AnneMarie Hennes of Santa Cruz won the Expert women with a time of 4:06.95 followed by Rosie Bernhard riding for Another Bike Shop in second at 4:23.00. Deborah Vitale won the Sport women in 5:01.73 and Felton's Kevin Saylor won the 13-and-under division in 3:48.27.

Aptos pro Shane Kloepfer won the Pro/Semi-pro division at the CCCX Mountain Bike Cross Country race No. 6 in Toro Park on Saturday. Kloepfer managed to tear through the five-lap course in just 1:31:39, beating out second-place finisher Rob Anderson of Mill Valley, who finished 4:45 back.

Sarah Kerlin from Capitola, riding for Another Bike Shop, won the Pro/Expert women's division with a time of 2:06:14.

Soquel's Scott Chapin won the Expert age 19-34 division in 1:40:32, followed by John Pattullo of Salinas in second, just 1:34 back. Miles Wadsworth won the Expert 35-44 division with a time of 1:42.06, followed by Keith DeFiebre in second. Latorraca was followed by Ron Riley in second. Barrett Scott of San Jose won the Beginner 35-44 in 1:10:56 followed by Felton's Robert Lopez in second place. In the Pro/Expert single speed, Santa Cruz's Mark Howland took second.
